Hon Michael Sukkar

Michael Sukkar is a former Australian politician and long-serving member of the Liberal Party of Australia. He represented the Federal Division of Deakin in Victoria between 2013–2025, building a profile as a strong advocate for economic growth, small business support, and responsible fiscal management.

With a professional background in law and finance, he brought industry experience to Parliament and held several senior roles, including Minister for Housing and Assistant Treasurer. In these portfolios, he contributed significantly to national policy development on housing affordability, financial regulation, and economic resilience.

Before entering public life, he worked as a commercial lawyer and financial adviser. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his focus on community development, infrastructure investment, and support for Australia’s multicultural communities, reflecting his dedication to fostering a stronger and more inclusive society.

Since leaving Parliament, Michael Sukkar has become a non-executive director and adviser to some of Australia’s largest private companies.
